| Description | Will be glad if the Earl's reading of the new act is the correct one, and will know all about it when the men of the 77th are recovered. Cannot calculate the exect number of Serjeants we have during the Training, but believes the number estimated for the Training lay list will be sufficient. The £4 is for the Drill The necessaries etc. are all in a state of forwardness. Expects to receive the tenders for supplying bread and meat tomorrow. Has heard from the Adjutant of the 60th that Serjeant O'Brien is a trustworthy man, who will be discharged in June, after which he will be available for the Hunts. Rufles. Has seen a field of Jenkins' which thinks would serve well for a general parade ground and Battalion drill. Enclosed: A paper compiled by Mr. Issacson, showing the average ages and height of the Huntingdonshire Rifle Regiment of Militia. |
