Title	Letter; J.G. Green, Huntingdon, to 7th Earl of Sandwich.
Description	Sends testimonials from Captain Miller. Miller is Colonel Monins's nephew and had heard from his uncle that Captain Green might soon retire from the Adjutancy of the Hunts. Militia. Requests Lord Sandwich to consider the testimonials favourably. Would like to oblige his old friend Monins and also, after 50 year's service, is very interested in the matter of his successor as Adjutant. Miller is well qualified for the duties of the situation, and he is also a man of prepossessing manners, well connected by birth and marriage, and of a comfortable independent property. Attached: Rough copy of a letter 7th Earl of Sandwich, Folkstone, to Captain Green. Returns Miller's recommendations. Cannot give any promise to him because has already had several applications and some of these are from his own friends, whom he may wish to oblige. Reminds Green too that no one has more interest in the appointment than the Commanding Officer. Will not consider the matter seriously until Green actually tenders his resignation. 7th June, 1854
