TitleLetter; David J. Harmar, Eastbourne Terrace, London, to 7th Earl of Sandwich.
DescriptionThe great interest exhibited by Lord Sandwich in everything related to the Corps of Gentlemen at Arms emboldens the writer to make a personal request. The Earl will perceive that the Ensign of the Yeomen of the Guard, a post equivalent to the writer's (he is the Standard Bearer), though in the Corps taking rank after the Gentlemen at Arms, as well as the Senior Exon, a much subordinate officer are both knighted. Gives a number of reasons why he wishes Lord Sandwich to recommend him to the Queen for a knighthood. Will supply any testimonials of his service which Lord Sandwich may require.
