DescriptionThis photograph was reproduced in the Hunts Post of the 5th September 1946, and described as "On the Ouse forty five years ago. A photograph from WE Driver's album of a picnic party taken at Houghton.
Back Row left to right - the late Mr W Tysoe (then engineer at the mill [Brown & Goodman's steam flour mill at Godmanchester]), the late Alderman James Tysoe who was Messrs. Brown & Goodman's manager and Mayor of Godmanchester 1893 and 1894, Mrs Commins, unidentified, Mrs J Beck, Alderman Driver, and the late Mrs JH Goggs, Huntingdon chemist.
Seated in front - Mrs Ernest Tysoe (wife of Alderman Tysoe), the late Mrs Burdett, Mrs Hinde (wife of a former Mayor of Huntingdon [Leila Hinde, wife of the photographer Frederick Hinde]) the late Miss Burdett, Mrs Lugg (daughter of Alderman Tysoe), Mrs Aubrey (daughter of Alderman Robert Cater, Mayor of Huntingdon 1907/8/9), the late Miss [Gertrude] Hinde and Miss Ridgeley.
The man leaning over the stern is unidentified, and so are the other two ladies behind. The two children are unidentified, though one is believed to be Donald Tysoe"
