DescriptionA large crowd has gathered to witness the laying of the foundation stone of the new Trinity Church on the High Street, Huntingdon. The ceremony was carried out by Thomas Coote Esq. of Fenstanton. Johan Myhill's book, "Trinity Church, Huntingdon", records that a large number of nonconformists from all over the county joined with "Huntingdonians of all denominations to witness the occasion". The ceremony took place in unfavourable weather conditions, and the crowd dispersed in "a shower of sleet".
