The Cambridge (University and Colleges) Rating Act, 1886 The Cambridge (University and Colleges) Rating bill was promoted by the Commissioners to amend the law with respect to the rating of the University and colleges. The series consists of a copy of the Cambridge Rating Bill, 1886; resolution of the Commissioners to apply for an amendment to the law relating to rating of University property; reports and resolutions of the Assessment and Parliamentary Committees; correspondence between CW (Charles) Palmer, clerk to the Commissioners, the parliamentary agents for the bill, Sharpe and Co solicitors, and the University; notices of meetings of rate payers and owners, the Parliamentary Committee and the Improvement Board; and extracts from the Cambridge Chronicle.
