<dc:title>Cambridge Improvement Commissioners versus Benjamin Barclay Anthony</dc:title>
<dc:description>This file contains the case transcript, notes and background to the case (including the notice requesting that Mr Moyes removes the 'show-sign' from his Bull Hotel.) Case brought against Anthony, the sign-maker, because the sign removed as an encrochement by the Improvement Commissioners had been re-established. Original case adjourned until 14 Dec 1881. Further papers include a letter of 13 Dec 1881 from Henry John Whitehead accompanying copies of the correspondances between Messrs Anthony, Moyes and Harrison; a letter of 16 Jan 1882 from Crowland to C.I.C. solicitor Palmer concerning the location of the offending sign; a letter to Anthony, the advertising agent, detailing the charges he must pay, plus a copy of the same letter with written notice of receipt by D. Harrison, accompanied by a letter from Harrison (24 Jan 1882) stating Anthony's intention to pay the charges and remove the sign; and a letter of 3 Feb 1882 from Harrison to Palmer requesting the details of someone in Cambridge willing to remove Anthony's sign and have it sent to him.</dc:description>
