<dc:title>The interior of the Saloon, Kimbolton Castle</dc:title>
<dc:description>This image is similar to WH3/1962, which is believed to have been taken between 1894-1900. This later image of the Saloon (see DC39 and WH3/203A for an earlier image) shows that the Saloon has now been carpeted with a red, brown and white bordered Axminster carpet. In this image you can also see the handsome plated fender ornamented with scrolls and festoons with a pair of solid silver figure ornaments, a pair of five-foot carved gilt lamp stands with cherubs, four of the eight Elizabethan arm chairs, upholstered in crimson Utrecht velvet, with metal fringes, and one of a pair of bronze cherub figures on a brass base holding a four-light brass candelabra ( descriptions taken from the 1927 Castle inventory, reference Manchester 2/110). See WH3/1962 for a similar thumbnail image</dc:description>
