<dc:title>The Frozen River Great Ouse at St Ives, taken opposite the Quay in mid-river.</dc:title>
<dc:description>The winters of 1890-1891 and 1894 were very severe and here a group of children stand beside the frozen River Great Ouse, on the edge of Hemingford Meadow, with the St Ives river bridge and the town behind them. This glass plate is not dated, therefore this image could have been taken in either winter. Ernest Whitney has labelled this image "Frozen Ouse St Ives approx. 1887".
